Soft Touch is the latest side project from Grace Stevenson; known for her music as Rebel Yell, and previously in 100%.

Keeping it’s distance from the industrial techno sounds of Rebel Yell, Empty has a much softer, dream like feel with mellow, resonant synths and ghostly vocals. Reminiscent of artists like Pillow Pro and Chromatics, Soft Touch has been described as dark pop and gothic RnB, perhaps even a slow groove to grind to.

Empty is the second single off the Empty Lovers EP due out late April on a small run of cassettes.

Grace says about Soft Touch “I’d been playing with the idea of moving further into the pop realm, Soft Touch isn’t exactly pop, but definitely moves in a more melodic direction than Rebel Yell and something that I didn’t feel worked under that umbrella. Soft Touch began as my new start in a fresh city among a lot of other life changes. The album is about being in control of my body and choices and the consequences that come from that for both myself and others around me. I was listening to a lot of Charli XCX, Ariana Grande and Troye Sivan at the inception of Soft Touch and was definitely inspired by this music, the outcome is perhaps not so similar though…“
